How To Build And Launch An App With An AI Coding Tool
3 min read

Plan the path from a first screen to a deployed app before sharing it. Write the spec, build in small steps and check complete user journeys.
Write A One-Page Spec
Before you prompt, write who the app is for, the one job it does and what a user can do. Keep it to a page. A hypothetical example: "A page where a freelance tutor lists open slots and a parent books one." The spec keeps the tool pointed at one outcome.
Keep The Stack Simple
Choose common, simple tools you can find help for. A complicated setup makes problems harder to solve.
Build In Small Steps
Ask for one feature at a time and check it works before moving on. Small steps are easier to review and undo than a large generated app.
Read What It Wrote
You do not need to understand every line, but look at what changed. When something breaks, read the error message, remove secrets or private data from it and give the tool the relevant text when asking for a fix.
Test Like A User
Use dedicated test accounts and synthetic data on a phone as well as a computer. Try wrong inputs and write down what fails. Use a supported test environment for payments and check what submit buttons do before clicking.
Check The Basics Before Sharing
Before sending a link to anyone, look for exposed keys, open admin pages and data anyone can read. Do these checks before the link goes public.
Deploy And Learn
Put the app online, share it with a few real people and watch what they do. Their behavior tells you what to change next.
If You Want A Guided Course
Vibe Coding to Shipped Product walks this same path in 10 beginner lessons, from the one-page spec through small build steps, testing, secure basics and launch. It's free, and the first lesson covers the spec, so bring a small app idea and start there.
