How To Make AI-Written Copy Sound Like You
3 min read

Give an AI writing tool examples of your voice, a reader and a goal for the page. Then check the draft against those examples and the facts it needs to explain.
Collect Samples Of Your Voice
Gather a few things you wrote that you like: emails, posts, a page. Note what they share: sentence length, words you use, what you never say. Use short samples you are allowed to share, remove unneeded private details and ask the tool to match the writing choices.
Say Who It Is For And What You Want
For each piece, state the reader, the situation and one action you want. "Write a homepage for a bookkeeper" gives vague output. "Write the top of a homepage for independent clinic owners who want to see accurate numbers each month, ending with a request to book a call" gives something to work with. The second example is hypothetical.
Give It Facts To Use
Give the tool specifics to work from. Provide real details: what you offer, what is included, how it works and objections customers raise. Do not ask it for testimonials or results you do not have.
Edit Hard
Cut stock phrases, add a concrete example, and read aloud. Replace claims you cannot support. Check that the next step is clear.
Test What Converts
Pick one page and one element, such as the headline or button text. Use a controlled test when you can. and record traffic or offer changes alongside the results. Treat small samples cautiously rather than attributing every change to the copy.
If You Want It As Skill Files
The Copy and Conversion Pack packages this process into three skill files: one turns your existing writing into a voice profile, one drafts landing pages, sales emails and ads, and one edits drafts with before-and-after explanations. Setup instructions cover Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI. Yours forever, updates included. Have a few writing samples and your page facts ready.
