How To Earn As An Affiliate: Choosing Products And Pitching Brands
3 min read
If you already have an audience, affiliate links are one way to earn from it. The job is in choosing what to promote and being honest about it. A product you would not use yourself is hard to recommend well.
Pick Products Your Audience Needs
List problems your audience talks about and the tools you use to solve them. Promote what fits. A hypothetical example: a woodworking channel recommending a tool it uses every week.
Check The Program
Look at what the commission pays, how referrals are tracked, how long a click counts and when you are paid. Read the terms, including rules on how you may promote.
Disclose Clearly
Disclose the financial relationship in plain words where people will see the recommendation, including near the link. Check the rules that apply to your audience; do not hide the disclosure in a profile or after text readers must expand.
Show Real Use
Share how you use the product, what it does well and who it is not for. Keep descriptions based on your actual use and supported product facts.
Pitch Brands Directly
If a brand has no program, send a short note: who you are, who your audience is, why the product fits and what you propose. Be specific and keep it brief.
Track And Learn
Use separate links per place so you can see what works. Review results alongside product fit and audience feedback, not earnings alone.
If You Want A Short Guide
The Creator Affiliate Guide is a short guide on exactly this: picking products worth promoting, pitching brands and earning from the audience you have. Bring your audience description and the program terms you want to assess.
